    Monday - Wednesday:


    Unit on Organization of Life
    Essential Question
    What are the essential characteristics of living things?
    Lesson topic Work days for Life process poster project
    Targets / lesson objective Students will build and demonstrate understanding of the eight life processes shared by living organisms.
    Students will apply understanding of life processes for a chosen organism
    Activities Students will choose a living organism to design a poster on life processes
    Students will complete posters with materials provided in class
    How will students demonstrate learning Students will demonstrate positive participation in activity.
    Students will have personal records for each activity
    Life process posters will be due on or before Friday Oct 19th
    Homework Poster work will need to be completed at home if it is not finished by end of class on Wednesday Oct 17th
    Students should continue to review class notes in science spiral or folder for about 15 minutes per class day to build a solid understanding.


    Thursday:

    Visioneers field trip to Mahomet Early American Museum.

    Students not attending field trip will be working on team class work in room 1734 during team periods.

    Friday:

    Notice: Life Process posters due with student planning page attached.

    How does the cell meet the eight processes of life?
    Lesson topic Introduction to cell parts and processes
    Targets / lesson objective Students will share current understanding of cell discovery, cell parts, and cell processes
    Students will build and demonstrate understanding of the history of discovery for the cell
    Activities Students will record current understanding of cells, cell parts, and cell discovery.
    Students will take notes from video on cell discovery
    How will students demonstrate learning Students will demonstrate positive participation in activity.
    Students will have personal records for each activity
    Homework Students should continue to review class notes in science spiral or folder for about 15 minutes per class day to build a solid understanding.
