Feedback - Period 4

Detectives Sussman, Castillo, & Deaville:

  • The fabric shown on your "fabric" slide was not the fabric we investigated. We were supposed to be investigating the fabric snagged on the computer cart. Samples of that fabric are in the "fabric_ID" folder. That black cloth on the floor is a microfiber computer cleaning cloth.
  • include pictures of the fabric sample and what you conclude it is
  • include pictures of the powder samples
  • on your second slide, orient the arrows the same direction
  • on your second slide, make sure the words "Destroyed Laptop" aren't cut off (that might just be on my computer)

Detectives Blacker, Diggs & Wells:

  • Add an analysis of the second shoeprint
  • Slide 2 has your conclusion - please move your conclusion to the end after you've looked at all the data
  • Slide 3 - alibis. Make the text bigger and more readable.
  • Slide 4 is unnecessary - Demarkus made a good slide presentation for the crime scene photos, just use that first.
  • Add an image to go with the phone tones on slide 5. Are you prepared to explain how you did this analysis?
  • Add images to the fabric analysis
  • Add images to the powder ID. Include information from the powder ID lab about solubility and temperature.
  • Add images to the hair ID slide.

Detectives Peete, Chatman & Simmons:

  • Seandez's crime scene photos look great. Start with those to explain what happened.
  • Go to Alante's next to see the alibis
  • Label the photos on the fabric ID and powder ID slides
  • Analyze and add the second shoeprint
  • Make a conclusion: who did it? Why?
  • Add the phone tone analysis
  • Add information from the powder ID lab about temperature and solubility.

Detectives Nash, Strowmatt & Blake:

  • The slides look good, but so far just describe the crime scene
  • ADD: powder ID
  • ADD: fabric ID (what was the gray fabric?). Include pictures of fabric samples.
  • ADD: hair ID (what was the hair on the fabric?). Include pictures of hair samples.
  • ADD: phone tone analysis (whose number could have called Mrs. Lodes?)
  • ADD: footprint analysis (whose footprints were those?). Include pictures of footprint samples.
  • Add a list of suspects and their alibis (excuses)
  • Make a conclusion: who do you think did it and WHY?

Detectives Davis & Bennett:

  • ADD: powder ID (what was the powder? how do you know?)

Detectives Adams, Koch & McClain Crook:

  • Start with crime scene photos and a description of the crime scene
  • As you analyze things, say what suspects are indicated by that evidence
  • List all 6 suspects with evidence
  • Add a conclusion: who do you think did it and why?

Detectives Mboyo & Lopez:

  • Put all the alibis in a row (one slide right after the other)
  • We aren't identifying the black fabric, just the gray fabric. Show the cotton sample in your slide.
  • ADD: phone tone analysis. Whose number could it be?
  • ADD: hair ID (what was the hair on the fabric?). Include pictures of hair samples.
  • ADD: powder ID (what was the powder? how do you know?)
  • Make a conclusion: who do you think did it and WHY?

Feedback - Period 3

Detectives Harden & Nguyen:

  • Add alibis for all suspects
  • replace the blurry photo on slide 2 (suspects) with a non-blurry version
  • Powder slide - include pictures of Borax AND the evidence to help us compare
  • reconsider your phone tones - the phone tone can NOT lead you to a single number (it leads to several possibilities...)
  • check spellings on your last slide

Detectives Soutchay & Murray:

  • On the footprint IDs, label whose shoe prints those are
  • the fabric from the crime scene that you use in slide 4 is NOT the fabric we studied. We studied the fabric that was snagged on the cart. The photo you show of the black fiber - that's a microfiber computer cleaning cloth that was found on the floor of the crime scene.
  • you need to share the results of your Powder ID lab also to help you identify the powder
  • Add hair evidence
  • Add phone tone evidence
  • Add suspects and alibis
  • Add a description of the crime scene
  • Add a conclusion - what do you think happened and why?

Detectives Vaughn & Lusk:

  • Add a conclusion and WHY you think that
  • Try to make slides 14-17 more visually interesting. Add photos of the powders. Consider adding screenshots from audacity of the phone tones.
  • Add fiber evidence
  • Who does the powder evidence point to?
  • Move alibis so that they are either before or after all the evidence analysis

Detectives Shaw & Cribbett:

  • check some spellings (look for red squiggly lines)
  • Add the science lab data to the Powder ID. Who does that powder point to?
  • Evaluate the phone tones. Whose number could it be?
  • Add fiber analysis.
  • Add a conclusion and WHY you think that.

Detectives Bebczuk, Gable, & Abelson-Rafter:

  • I like Ben's crime scene photos. Finish them up so that all the evidence at the scene is shared.
  • Don't forget that there were two different footprints at the crime scene. Whose was the other one?
  • Add the science lab data to the Powder ID
  • Add phone tone evidence
  • Add fiber analysis
  • Move Franco's slides on hair analysis and add to David's?
  • During your presentation, you can start on Ben's computer sharing crime scene photos and then move to David's sharing the evidence

Detectives Owens & Evans:

  • Didn't hand anything in.
  • From what I saw yesterday, continue adding images to your slides
  • Use arrows in KeyNote to point out the important parts of each photo
