Essential Question: What happened during the Great Depression?

Agenda: Today we look at how both Germany and the United States embraced eugenics in the 1920s and 1930s. We also look at the plight of minorities during the Great Depression and wrap up with a look at Jesse Owen's brilliant performance at the 1936 Berlin Olympics.

Homework: none. However, students who did poorly or did not complete the short writing assignment on Urbana Money from Monday, may redo this assignment by answering a prompt about a political cartoon about the 1936 Olympics called "The Modern Mercury."
