Music Learning Sites/Programs

There are many music learning sites on the internet. Here are a few used in the UMS Band Program.

This site is the home of Staff Wars. Staff wars is a note reading game that helps students learn to read notes faster in a fun manner! Our students enjoy this a lot! Best aspect is that it is free. There are also other fun games on this site.

Smart Music is a subscription site. For $36 a year you are able to access music online with fun accompaniments. The accompaniments spice up practicing and helps students to "track" rhythm and note errors. UMS has the educator version and students use it in class. It's a fun and useful application that assists students and allows the teacher to provide written feedback.

This site has lots of fun games appealing to a variety of learners to learn music reading, rhythm, instrument families and even very beginning piano.
